Information About Canada's 2021 Federal Election

Canada's Federal Election is taking place on Monday, September 20, 2021. To help you be stay informed and be prepared to vote, we've outlined what you need to know before Election Day.

Who can vote in a federal election? 

To vote in a federal election, you must be a Canadian citizen, be at least 18 years old on Sept. 20, 2021, and you must be able to prove your identity and address. Find out if you're registered to vote here.

When and how do I receive my voter's card?

If you are registered, you should receive a Voter Information Card in the mail by Sept. 10

If you do not receive a Voter Information Card, or the information on the card is incorrect, your voter information may not be up to date. Use the online Voter Registration Service to check your registration, register or update your address. You may also call 1-800-463-6868 or 1-800-361-8935 for assistance.
