September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Join us at the library for special programming and curated booklists that explore issues around reconciliation and Indigenous lives impacted by residential schools. Drop by your branch and pick up an orange ribbon to wear in recognition and support. While quantities last.
Please note: All branches will be closed on Sept. 30 to reflect and honour residential school survivors, their families, and communities.
PA Days at the Library
This fall, don't miss PA Days fun at the library! Join us to play and learn with drop-in activities for ages 6-12 at every branch from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sept. 22, Oct. 20, and Nov. 17. Plus, check out a special registered event happening on Oct. 20 for aspiring young movie makers.
Fall Book Clubs
This fall, we're excited to offer book clubs for kids and adults at select branches. Visit our book clubs page for upcoming dates. Be sure to read about about book clubs to go, too!
Fall Classroom Visits
These free, virtual programs are designed to support educators in our community. Register your class by emailing programming@rhpl.ca. Programs will be done through Zoom, a free video conferencing software for tablets, smartphones and computers. Access instructions will be sent to those who register.
Visiting Authors: Linh Nguyen
Oct. 12 / 10-11 a.m.
Ages: Grades 5-6
Join us for a virtual author visit with Linh Nguyen, author of the popular middle-grade fantasy novel, No Place Like Home. Linh will read from her books, talk about her journey of becoming a writer, and share how her life experiences as a Vietnamese immigrant in Canada has inspired her work.
Indie Author Day Celebrates Local Authors
On Saturday, Nov. 4, libraries across North America celebrate local independent writers for Indie Author Day! Join us in celebrating local writers and books at our Indie Author Day Book Fair at Central Branch. Participants will meet with the community and sell their book(s).
