Develop Your Family Literacy Skills Together

Families are encouraged to develop their literacy skills by reading and doing other fun activities like: 

  • Create a top 10 list of your all-time favourite books and read them together

  • Draw a scene or character from your books 

  • Write a song or melody based on your favourite tale

  • Throw a book party and decorate with book themes or characters

  • Design a menu for your family party and base it off a cool book cover

  • Make a family board game night a standing weekly event

  • Read about people and stories that inspire you and help you grow and change

TumbleBookLibrary is a curated database of e-books for kids ages 6-12 with more with over 1,100 titles. Choose from animated, talking picture books, read-along chapter books, graphic novels, non-fiction books and videos, curated playlists, as well as books in Spanish and French. Login with your library membership to access this digital resource.

VOX Books are all-in-one books your kids can read along with. Listen to lively narrators read through the story with no CDs, batteries, or Internet access required. Available at all our branches. Search available titles in our catalogue.
