Certification Award for Environmental Design
Oak Ridges Branch was awarded Silver LEED® Certification for its sustainable, environmentally-responsible design in 2021. This designation recognizes the building’s sustainable design features, materials selection, water and energy efficiency and reduction in energy consumption. The linear design of the Library mirrors the natural beauty of the Oak Ridges Moraine and the roof is designed to reduce Heat Island effect (where closely packed buildings and paved surfaces amplify and trap heat), contributing to the mitigation of climate change effects.

Maker Space Services
Changes are coming to our MakerSpace services!
Over the past few months, we've been collecting feedback from our community and our team on our Maker Space services at our branches. As a result, we'll be pausing our Maker Space services at Oak Ridges branch over the summer as we update our spaces and how they operate. We thank you for your patience as we improve our services to support you better. Keep an eye out for new services to be revealed in September as we welcome you back to make, create and DIY!
