Community Outreach with Richmond Hill Cares

Richmond Hill Cares is a special community outreach initiative to support community services in our city. The Library chooses a charitable or social service and works with them to prepare care packages and other items for the community.

Milk Bag Program Initiative

milk bag projectFrom now until June 2, donate your used milk bags to the library in support of the Milk Bag Project. Local teens will be repurposing milk bags into useful items, like sleeping mats and purses, while also creating income opportunities through micro-entrepreneurship.

All you have to do is bring in clean, used milk bags to the library. There will be a labelled bin in the front lobby of each branch. Help keep bags out of landfills and reduce waste.

Teens Give Back

Some of our teen programs focus on working with local community groups through library programs to give back and develop leadership skills. Past initiatives include: Snack Donation Drive with 360° Kids and Mommy Care kits in partnership with the Yellow Brick House. Teens can also volunteer at the library to help make a difference in our community.
