Library of Things
At the library, we're so much more than just books. We offer members access to borrow other items for free, including: hotspots to connect from home, experience passes to visit local venues, and STEAM kits for kids, just to name a few. And our library of "things" is growing. Check back for new offerings this spring. Tools, equipment, and more coming soon.
Hotspots: Wirelessly Connect from Anywhere
Need reliable internet in a pinch? Visit any RHPL branch to borrow a hotspot, and access unlimited data from anywhere in Canada!
Connect up to 15 devices to one hotspot to access Rogers 4G/3G LTE internet (where available). Hotspots are available to adult members with a membership in good standing, and can be borrowed for up to three weeks with an option to renew one time if there are no holds on the item. Items must be returned to our staff desks during branch hours.
Experience Passes
Discover and explore local culture and wildlife with Experience passes! Borrow an Experience Pass with your membership and get free general admission to museums, art galleries, and Ontario parks.
STEAM Kits
STEAM Kits are a fun, hands-on way for school-aged children to learn new things and expand their skills. Use your library card to check out a STEAM Kit from Central Branch and discover topics like robotics, coding, optics, gravity, and more!
Learning Kits
Learning kits can be signed out and used to work with children on skill mastery and development. They can help children understand a topic or subject in a more meaningful way with embedded supports to extend learning in math, literacy, and science.
