Tehran Book Fair, Uncensored is an international literary event celebrating Persian literature, culture, and freedom of expression. The fair is organized by independent publishers outside of Iran and travels annually to cities across Europe and North America. The event brings together writers, artists, publishers, and members of the Persian diaspora to share stories, exchange ideas, and celebrate cultural creativity beyond censorship.
Hosted by Richmond Hill Public Library, the Toronto edition brings this global cultural movement to the heart of one of Canada’s largest Persian communities. Over two days, the Library becomes a vibrant gathering place for literature, conversation, and cultural exchange, featuring book launches, panel discussions, film screenings, workshops, and family programming in both Farsi and English. The event welcomes the broader community to explore Persian literary traditions while affirming the universal right to read, write, and publish freely.
